Newday: a week of camping, having to trek to the toilet in the middle of the night, having to queue for a shower, being squished in a tent with 7000 young people and their smelly feet! The thought of all that fills me with dread! But it is good that Newday is so much more than just that! This is my 11th year and each year amazing things happen! It is a week where people encounter the living God, where people have been physically and emotionally restored, where faith rises and people begin to dream big with the God who can do the impossible. This year is no exception: there is so much more to come because His generosity does not run out! Reason no. 1450 :)

Thankful that I get to spend next week working with 3-4 year olds at Newday. I love thinking that these are the future teachers, lawyers, doctors, inventors, writers, police of our society. Yesterday I woke up with a horrible migraine on my day off. I am so thankful that God healed my head and my vision and allowed me to sleep off the pain then enjoy the rest of the day. He is a caring and loving God. Reason no. 1447 :)

It is less than a week till Newday. It is exciting to think that God is able to do immeasurably more than what we dare to ask or dream of! Yesterday at church I listened to a talk on Martin Luther. I am so thankful that he translated the bible into German and consequently started the bible being translated into peoples own languages. Today I heard this amazing story of adoption. It was a privilege to hear the journey the child had taken and how the child is now thriving in their new home. It was amazing to see the love that mum poured out to the child and the encouraging words she used to describe them. An amazing reminder of the story God gives me by choosing to adopt me as His daughter. He chose me whilst broken and full of sin and He chose to pour His love over me! He is a good good father! Thankful for creativity. In the next couple of days a beautiful piece of artwork should be arriving. It has a lovely picture of the countryside accompanied with so many wonderful truths of who God is. I am excited to put it up in our home and have God's truth on display in such a beautiful way. Thankful for the promises of God and how the promises spoken do not change. What God has spoken will come to pass. Thankful that we can stand on the promises with confidence because of who God is. He is unchanging, He does not lie, He is the One who knows the beginning and the end and He is One who is trustworthy. Reason no. 1305 :)
